Award represents the 2nd year in a row that Kazan Networks takes home a Best of Show award from Flash Memory Summit.

Santa Clara, CA — August 14th, 2017

Kazan Networks Corporation is pleased to share that it was selected for the Best of Show award for Most Innovative Flash Memory Enterprise Business Application at the Flash Memory Summit, being held this week.  Kazan Networks, partnered with 4 other industry leaders, developed a storage solution based on the new NVMe over Fabrics™ standard.

“Flash memory is being used today in new,  ground-breaking ways and storage networks are evolving to leverage the performance and scalability that can be achieved with NVMe over Fabric solutions,” said Jay Kramer, Chairman of the Awards Program and President of Network Storage Advisors Inc. “We are proud to select Newisys along with their partners Kazan Networks, IBM, Intel, and Mellanox Technologies for the Best of Show Innovation Award for its innovation in raising the bar to new levels of performance, scalability, and interoperability to address the demands of mission critical business application workloads.”

Kazan Networks and Newisys showed a storage system nearly ready for production, including six of Kazan Networks’ new “Magma” NVMe-oF™ bridge adapters installed into a 2U / 24 SSD EBOF (Ethernet-attached Bunch of Flash).  This combined system delivers over 15 million IOPS (I/Os per second) and over 60 gigabytes / second of bandwidth, making it the world’s fastest such solution.

“Our team worked very hard to achieve this new high-water mark in performance and functionality,” said Joe Steinmetz, CEO of Kazan Networks.  “The combined solution also demonstrates remote management capabilities, well beyond showing simple I/O functionality.  Furthermore, the fact that five companies participated in this system configuration is a testament to the interoperability of our technology.  It’s exciting to be able to demonstrate a solution that’s essentially ready for deployment this year.”

The Newisys NVMe Fabric Storage System model NDS22482F is designed for No Single Points of Failure (NSPOF) and consists of a fully integrated rack-mountable chassis occupying two rack units (2RU) of space and including:

  • Up to twenty-four (24) U.2 NVMe SSDs supporting single x4 or dual x2 PCIe 3.0 interfaces,
  • Single or dual and redundant NVMe fabric modules supporting up to three (3) full length x16 PCIe 3.0 bridge adapters each, and
  • Dual and redundant AC or DC power supplies with cooling fans and independent power inputs supporting loads of up to 1,500 Watts each.

Kazan Networks is currently sharing details of their implementation with select customers.  Please contact the company directly for more information.
